Long Tom Tjapanangka Long Tom Tjapanangka was born in 1929 somewhere near his father's country of Lupul (Frederick Ranges). He speaks the Ngaatjatjarra language and as a child traveled by foot with his family across vast stretches of desert from Lupul on the border of Western Australia to Areyonga, a small Aboriginal community southeast of Alice Springs. Long Tom has been a senior painter at the Hassts Bluff community since 1993. Long Tom Tjapanangka is a very successful aboriginal artist with collections in many countries, and his paintings are much sought after for investment and pleasure.
