Ronnie Tjampitjinpa

Ronnie Tjampitjinpa and his younger brother originally came from the bush at Yuendumu, and later joined relatives in Papunya, where he worked as a larbourer to build fences in the area. By 1973 Ronnie had begun to paint, joining other men around Papunya in the beginings of the movement. Ronnie continued to move between Papunya Yuendumu and Mt Doreen station until the establishment of the community in Kintore in 1981. He painted at Kintore and has since emerged as one of Papunya Tula Artists' major painters.

Ronnie Tjampitjinpai is a very successful aboriginal artist and his paintings are much sought after for investment and pleasure.
